2022 Training Summit at the State Convention
TRAINING SUMMIT COURSES
For the first time, the Minnesota DFL is holding its Training Summit during the State Convention. All sessions are open to State Convention delegates and alternates, who are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills needed to strengthen our Party and win elections in November and beyond. Training Summit sessions will be held during breaks in Convention business throughout the weekend. This schedule is subject to change.

Training Block A
Delegation Co-Chair Orientation

This training is specifically designed for Delegation Chairs to better understand their role in the State Convention. Learn about upgrading and downgrading delegates, balloting, and more.

Act Now: How to Motivate Digital Actions That Drive Success

This training will teach you how to analyze examples of digital calls to action in order to utilize your digital platforms by identifying tactics for convincing people to take action.
CFB Compliance Training for Party Units
Presented by: Minnesota Campaign Finance Board
A brief overview of the compliance training for party unit treasurers and chairs, including information on contributions, reporting and recordkeeping requirements, disclaimers, and redistricting.
Why We VAN

Learn how to plan and run a day of action! From recruiting volunteers to making a list, to talking to voters, we will have everything you need to know for your Day of Action to be a success.

Why We Need to Change the Way We Communicate

How do we create messages that resonate with voters and attract them to support our candidates? By understanding the science behind how people think and what drives them to take action. We’ll introduce you to the concept of framing and show how strategic framing can set the stage for a world where our worldview is dominant once again. We’ll discuss practical ways you can create a culture of effective communication in your unit and we’ll provide links and resources that will help bring your candidates, staff and volunteers —even new volunteers— on board the framing train.
Relational Organizing

Learn how to tap into your personal network to organize for your candidates. Relational organizing can make the difference between winning and losing an election, but it can also be an opportunity to grow your unit and strengthen your relationships.

Learn how ActBlue can make your fundraising goals a reality. The ActBlue team will go over the basic functions of the tool, and show you how to integrate it into your unit’s finance plan.

The Stop, Drop and Roll Method of Crafting Well-Framed Messages
