About Us

Sunday, June 17th, 12 PM – 6 PM CD5 DFL Special Endorsing Convention
Barton Open Elementary 4237 Colfax Ave S, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55409

The mission of DFL-CD5 is to ensure that Democrats within the district (the voters, volunteers, activists, supporters and candidates who uphold the principles and policies of the DFL Party of Minnesota) have the opportunity to participate in a fair process of elections to choose those candidates whom they believe will best represent our common values. We believe that party politics is an effective tool for influencing the composition of our legislative, executive and judicial bodies and one that ultimately affects how government policy is created and executed. Accordingly, we believe that our efforts have a direct effect on the Quality of Life for all our residents with respect to social justice, economic justice, human rights and human dignity. Once our candidates for public office are endorsed at their appropriate endorsing conventions, our party organization supports them vigorously with financial aid and volunteer support to help them win elections.

Minnesota’s Political Contribution Refund program (PCR) has finally returned! The PCR allows people to have their political donations fully refunded – up to $50 per person or $100 per couple. Every refundable donation to the DFL helps us build up a critical firewall of Democratic resistance here in Minnesota. Click here to donate.
