State Central Committee

The DFL State Central Committee

The State Central Committee (SCC) is the governing body of the Minnesota DFL Party between State Conventions, which occur every two years. The central committee meets three to four times a year. Its membership includes the State Executive Committee, 50 at-large members, ten elected officials, the chairs and vice-chairs of each senate district, and representatives elected from local party units. The State Central Committee operates under the party’s official documents and the State Central Committee Standing Rules. For matters not covered by those rules, the State Central Committee is governed by Robert’s Rules of Order.

SCC MEETING – December 9th, 2023

Location

When:  Saturday, December 9th.  Registration opens 8:45, Caucus kit training at 9:15, SCC meeting at 10:30

Where:  Burnsville High School; 600 State Highway 13; Burnsville, MN 55337

Please park in the west parking lot, as shown below, and enter through door 18, where you will find the registration area, food, and tabling.  Handicap accessible parking is available near door 4, and those with mobility needs can enter and register through door 4.  There are student events happening at the school that day, and since we will be handing out caucus kits, tabling, and selling Biden merchandise, we are trying to be respectful of our hosts by keeping the bulk of the commotion to the other side of the building!  Click maps to enlarge.  Scroll down for more accessibility information.

Documents

Committee members and alternates will receive official notice of the meeting, including location and time, the agenda, and other materials in advance of the meeting.

Precinct Caucus Kits

We will be handing out precinct caucus kits for Organizing Units at the meeting.  Kits can be picked up right outside Door 18, where you enter for registration.  PLEASE remember to grab your kit before you leave!  If no one from your unit is able to attend the meeting, please work with a neighboring unit who may be able to pick up your kit.  Kits will be at least one cardboard box – units with a higher number of precincts will have several boxes!

Biden Merchandise Packs

“Minnesotans for Biden-Harris” campaign merchandise packs will be available for purchase at the State Central Committee meeting!

Only personal checks or credit cards can be accepted.  No direct purchase by local units is permitted.  Local units can reimburse individuals who by kits.

Accessibility & Accommodations Information

Handicap accessible parking is marked on the map near the top of this page.  Members with mobility needs can enter through Door 4, which is closer to the auditorium.  We will have a secondary registration area set up there for you so you don’t have to go to the other side of the building to register prior to the meeting.  If you do wish to park near door 18, a wheelchair lift is available at that entrance.

Wheelchair accessible seating in the auditorium is located along the middle entrance level.

Size-accessible seating with moveable armrests is available at the ends of several rows in the auditorium.  These seats are marked with an accessibility symbol for easy identification.

Prayer rooms and a mothers’ room are available upon request.  Simply find a DFL staff member on the day of the meeting, and we can help direct you.

The school’s gender neutral restroom is immediately at the top of the stairs near Door 4.  If you require elevator access to reach the gender neutral restroom, please ask a DFL staff member and we can help direct you.

Headsets for increased volume will be available for checkout, as will smart devices for our electronic voting if you are not able to use your own.

Concessions will be available for purchase from Senate District 55 DFL, who have said they will have vegetarian and gluten free options available.  If you are not vegetarian or gluten free, please leave these options available for those who are.

If you have any additional accessibility needs, please visit our accommodations page or reach out to [email protected] to let us know how we can help!
