Minnesota DFL Summer Fellowship
July 15 – September 15, 2019
Position Overview: The Minnesota Democratic Farmer Labor (DFL) Party is hiring fellows to work on behalf of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, the Minnesota House of Representatives, and other candidates during the summer of 2019. Organizing Fellow positions are ideal for anyone interested and excited about politics, willing to tackle unique challenges, and want to dedicate themselves to advancing progressive politics throughout Minnesota. Fellows will be working closely with the Organizing Director as well as other fellows in a specific geographic region. The position runs from July 15, 2019 through September 15, 2019 with a one week vacation. Only a limited number of fellowship positions are available.
- Direct Voter Contact (door-to-door canvassing, phone calls, etc.)
- Event planning and management
- Volunteer engagement and relationship building
- Data management
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Women, persons of color, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and other traditionally disadvantaged groups are strongly encouraged to apply. Fluency in foreign languages, especially Spanish, Somali, or Hmong is appreciated. Candidates with experience on political campaigns and/or advocacy organizations, or who plan to stay in politics, will be given prime consideration. We are looking for applicants who possess a passion in progressive politics, a good attitude, and strong multi-tasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and internet-based research is required. Availability must be a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Compensation and dealine: Fellows will be paid at $15 per hour. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis with a deadline of 5 PM on July 12, 2019.
