DFL Chairman Ken Martin Statement in Response to Sexual Harassment Allegations Against Republican Representative Tony Cornish

[ST. PAUL, MN] – Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party Chairman Ken Martin today issued the following statement in response to allegations of sexual harassment made against Republican Representative Tony Cornish.

“The disturbing stories surfacing about Rep. Cornish demonstrate what Rep. Maye Quade bravely said yesterday: ‘Sexual harassment in the workplace, and at the Capitol, is bigger than one Senator.’ Our State Legislature is one of many institutions across the country where power and fear allow sexual harassment to fester. Elected officials must set an example by creating a culture of zero tolerance for sexual harassment—one that empowers those who have been harassed, holds perpetrators accountable, and deters this type of inappropriate behavior in the first place.”
