DFL Chair Statement on Representative Jason Lewis’ Vote to Advance Harmful Budget
[ST. PAUL, MN] – Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Chair Ken Martin released the following statement after Representative Jason Lewis voted last night to advance a misguided budget out of the House Budget Committee.
“Representative Jason Lewis voted last night to advance a cruel budget completely out of line with Minnesotan values. The budget pays for tax breaks for the wealthy on the backs of working families. It leaves our seniors out in the cold by cutting critical programs like Medicare and Social Security, and it slashes important investments in skills training and college affordability that provide businesses in our state with skilled workers while helping people secure good paying jobs.”
“Lewis’ support for this outrageous budget exposes just how out of touch he is with hardworking Minnesotans. We need to elect a DFLer to his seat that will fight to boost the economy, create good paying jobs, and improve the lives of all Minnesotans.”
