Statement from DFL Chairman Ken Martin

“I join our brothers and sisters in labor who are mourning the death of Minnesota AFL-CIO and MN Building Trades President Emeritus David Roe.

“A statewide labor leader, David dedicated his life to working men and women. In retirement he remained a go-to person to talk about the import role of unions. And he never forgot the workers that came before us. Thanks to his drive and tenacity, after 15 years the Legislature allocated funding for the Minnesota Workers Memorial Garden in St. Paul.

“As Roe worked to honor the memory of workers, we will keep his memory alive by never giving up our work for the right to organized and fair wages for all.”
