Position Overview:

The DFL is hiring fellows to work on behalf of state and local candidates this summer. Organizing Fellow positions are ideal for anyone interested and excited about politics, willing to tackle unique challenges, and want to dedicate themselves to advancing progressive politics. Fellows will be working closely with DFL Field Management  as well as other fellows. The position runs from June 22, 2020 through August 14, 2020. Only a limited number of fellowship positions are available. 


  • Community Outreach via 1:1 virtual conversations
  • Meeting planning and management (virtual)
  • Volunteer engagement and relationship building
  • Other duties as assigned


Women, persons of color, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and other traditionally disadvantaged groups are strongly encouraged to apply. Fluency in foreign languages, especially Spanish, Somali, or Hmong is appreciated. Candidates with experience on political campaigns and/or advocacy organizations, or who plan to stay in politics, will be given prime consideration. 

We are looking for applicants who possess a passion in progressive politics, a good attitude, and strong multi-tasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and internet-based research is required. Availability must be a minimum of 20 hours per week. 

Compensation: Fellows will be paid at $15 per hour
